FAQs

Thank you for looking! I am hoping you come away from reading this with a better understanding of my art and how I am to work with. If you have arrived here and after reading this you still have an unanswered question please contact me through email and I’ll respond within 24 hours. Legal, privacy and communication questions may be answered in the Privacy Policy or Terms and Conditions pages so please check there too. This page will be updated as we go and grow so please check back.

1. Information: When purchasing a painting if you need any additional information about a particular piece do not hesitate to reach out. Many landscapes are painted in the New England region of the US and I am happy to provide location information or answer questions about materials or process. I absolutely love to talk all things art!

2. Framing: Mostly I do not frame the paintings/prints for sale and if they are pictured in a frame it is for aesthetic purposes so the buyer can get an idea of how it might look in their home or office. I think this is generally helpful. So the sale price does not include a frame unless specifically indicated in the description of the painting at the point of purchase. That said, I am happy to make suggestions and willing to discuss through text, email or a call. Please check my blog for suggestions as well as it will be a covered topic in the months to come. I am hopeful of developing affiliate links and suggestions through an e-commerce site such as Amazon so please check back. The one exception to this is fiber art. To protect fiber art pieces I often include a glass covered shadow box type frame to protect from dust and damage. Details will always be included in the description and itemized in the price. If you have a strong preference for a different framing process I am open to deduct the cost of the shadowbox frame. Oil, acrylic, gouache and mixed media paintings will not include glass if framed but all are sealed to protect the paintings from dust and dirt.

3. Hanging: I do not provide hanging hardware for a painting. This is often determined by the size of the frame and the surface to which it will be affixed and can vary greatly. Again, happy to provide suggestions and will be writing about it in a future blog post. It is generally recommended that paintings not be placed in direct sunlight as it may affect colors over a long period of time. This is more likely with prints. I use a UV protectant sealant on originals (paintings) but it is only a deterrent. I am hopeful of developing affiliate links and suggestions for hardware through an e-commerce site such as Amazon so please check back.

4. Location: Yes, I have a physical studio location in my home. If you wish to visit my studio you are welcome to do so with prior notice. Please use email to set up a day and time and I’ll do my best to make sure it is not in complete disarray : ) ! I do not, at this time, have work in a gallery, however, I often have work in art shows and it is always available on my website, Instagram and Etsy. I would welcome the opportunity to participate in a gallery or possibly a show so please reach out if interested. Please subscribe to the monthly newsletter here and follow my socials to stay aware of special releases, promotions and new work.

5. Commissions or Personalization: Yes, I am happy to do commissions including pet portraits, house paintings, meaningful locations, murals, etc. . . . The sky is the limit! The only exception to this would be portraiture. I am not trained in portraiture but would be happy to recommend some artists who are. Please reach out here to discuss further. Basically the process for commissions goes something like this: you reach out with an idea or question about an idea through the collaboration form, we come to an agreement, I’ll send you a contract which will include an agreed upon timeline for completion, materials, needed references if any, size and price and we’ll both sign it. Then I’ll get to work!

6. Shipping: I will use FedEx, USPS or UPS as my main shippers. Their individual terms and conditions and policies will be followed. I will clearly identify when shipping is included or not included in the price. If insurance is needed that will be calculated in the cost as well. If there is the possibility of a local pickup at my studio I am happy to arrange that and that option will be available at check out and will be reflected in the price. I do not deliver but exceptions can be made if there are extenuating circumstance which will be determined and discussed in advance.

7. Materials: I try to use environmentally friendly and archival products as much as possible and based on availability. The mixed media and fiber art pieces are often created out of up-cycled fabric, paper or repurposed linens and clothes. There is a huge environmental issue around the disposal of waste and textiles in our world so I am trying to do my part. If you have specific questions around this please email or if you would like me to incorporate a personal item or article of clothing or linen into a mixed media piece please send me more information and we’ll discuss a potential project!

8. Prints and Products: Prints and products with a particular image on it will be available on high quality cotton rag paper or through Print On Demand in varying sizes to suit individual needs. If it is a limited print run that will be noted in the price and a certificate of authenticity will be included with the numbered print.

9. Payment: Payment is accepted through the website and Etsy through approved and secure links. If local (within a 50 mile radius) and personal pick up is arranged, cash or check is acceptable. Please contact me directly through email as I will need to manually update the inventory on my website or Etsy shop. I do not accept cash or checks through the mail.

10. Collaboration: I would welcome the opportunity to work with interior decorators, licensing agents and corporate art consultants if my work fits with your aesthetic. Please contact me through email or this page.

Thank you so much! I look forward to working and sharing my art with you!
